New onset diabetes after transplantation

Acquired diabetes are not homogenous group of diabetes, which in WHO classification are in the group of the other type of diabetes. In this paper the information about the most frequent in clinic, new onset drug-induced diabetes after transplantation were discussed, with guidelines based on studies and own, long-term clinical practice in the health institute, also with transplantation clinics. Unfortunately there is no epidemiologic data about frequency of the new onset diabetes after transplantation in children. New onset diabetes mellitus after transplantation significantly diminished function and vitality of transplanted organ, increase cardiovascular risk, infection risk, likewise mortality after transplantation.
