Attempted conservative treatment of endometrial carcinoma

The authors studied 5 women aged 30.8±7.2 with irregular menstrual cycle, periodic intermenstrual bleeding, and primary or secondary sterility. Histopathology of smears obtained from collum and corpus revealed carcinoma stage O. The women received 0.03 mg estriol in the form of vaginal globules in 20-day cycles and 50 mg sublingual progesterone during the second phase of the menstrual cycle for six months, for 12 days during the second phase. Control histopathology of smears from the collum and corpus uteri performed every third month for two years revealed normal endometrium each time after six months.
