There are many different methods used in treatment of chronic otitis media, which enable one to eradicate the inflammatory process and/or to restore hearing. In this paper we show the general division of operations used in this disease and the most often used classifications. In our opinion, because of its plurality that results in some chaos, presently the best way is to write in the patient’s discharge card not only the type of operation but also a precise description concerning resection and reconstruction procedures.
