Dear colleagues,
many of you probably have already returned from your holidays, but there are also those who have their leisure still ahead. There are no holidays for the Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques editorial team, especially as our last evaluation turned out to be very beneficial for us. So I am pleased to inform you that in June the Clarivate Analytics agency established our impact factor (IF) at 1.147, which is our best result in history. Therefore, I would like to thank the whole team, and you dear authors and reviewers, for your hard work, which resulted in our joint success. At the same time, please remember about Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques when you are looking for materials for your scientific work, since the increasing number of citations makes our impact factor increase year by year.
And this time is particularly important, as the 48th World Congress of Surgery begins in Poland on August 11. This is a great, historical and very important event for Polish surgeons. I believe that we will meet in the creative atmosphere of beautiful Krakow and talk with guests from all over the world not only on surgical topics. It will also be an undoubted opportunity for international social meetings.
And for these holidays, we have prepared issue 3/2019 of our journal. As usual, there are 14 interesting original papers in the field of laparoscopic surgery, including one meta-analysis covering the results of treatment of low rectal cancers and one review paper. There are also 3 articles dealing with miniinvasive urology. I believe that everyone who deals with minimally invasive surgery will find something eye-catching, even during the holidays.
And for the new academic year I would like to wish you success in the field of science. I look forward to seeing you at many surgical meetings and scientific conferences of the 2019/2020 season.
Kind regards,
NCU Prof. Jacek Szeliga
Editor in Chief
