Dear Friends,
Our holidays are ending, so we can return to our daily duties with renewed energy. Fortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has subsided a little, and most of us have been vaccinated, so in the coming months there is a chance for normal meetings at scientific conferences. At such meetings, “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive techniques” will always be active, organizing, for example, competitions for the best scientific works.
And since science does not know the concept of a vacation, your research papers are being submitted to “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive techniques” every day. Therefore, the current issue is again full of new analyses and scientific reflections. Its structure shows how our character is changing. There are more and more publications in the field of general surgery. We are also starting a  meta-analysis section and clinical discussion in the form of a Clinical Forum. This way, we want to be closer to you and participate in an active, scientific discussion on various clinical problems of minimally invasive surgery. We also want to raise the significance of our discussions to new heights. We’re very happy, since year by year, articles published in “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive techniques” have a higher substantive value, which is reflected in the number of their citations, and our new, highest-ever impact factor. It all becomes our new common value.
In this issue you will find as many as 5 meta-analyses describing various surgical problems. There are also, as usual, publications in the field of other surgical specialties. I encourage you to read them carefully. And for the new academic year, I would like to wish you success in the field of science. Hopefully, I will see you at many live surgical meetings and scientific conferences of the 2021/2022 season.
Kind regards,
Prof. Jacek Szeliga
