The second year of the coronavirus pandemic is passing. We all believe that the end of all restrictions is near. It was a period in which doctors especially felt the responsibility placed on them. This pandemic showed how ineffective national health systems can be and how much dedication doctors can show. Only in these two years we’ve learned to a large extent the nature of the virus and how to deal with it. It is thanks to medical scientists. There have been lots of publications on various aspects of the pandemic and its pathogen. Surgery also had to adapt to the changed situation. Fortunately, our authors did not stop their scientific research; we recorded another record number of submitted papers and thus also we could get involved in the scientific process of surgical adaptation to the pandemic. Many of the articles have already reached the readers. They are becoming more valuable from year to year, as evidenced by the increasing values of our scientific power indices. Also this year, we expect a significant increase in our indicators: the impact factor and CiteScore.
