Respiratory disorders have a considerable medical and socioeconomic impact. There are a lot of areas of internal medicine that claim – as respiratory medicine – major responsibilities in respiratory diseases and other related disciplines including: intensive care medicine, infectious diseases, radiology, pathology, oncology, allergology, thoracic surgery, rehabilitation and also cardiology, laryngology, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, pharmacology, epidemiology and others. Allied health professionals are involved in the identification, evaluation, prevention and treatment of pulmonary disease disorders, and rehabilitation and health system management. It is an occasion for presentation of a few selected fields of that common responsibility.
