Juvenile dermatomyositis is a rare autoimmune disease of unknown etiology. It belongs to the group of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies and affects the skin, muscles and internal organs. In contrast to the form reported in adults, it is characterized by a different course of the disease – such as the presence of calcinosis in the skeletal muscle system. Physiotherapy is adjuvant therapy to the primary pharmacological treatment. It is possible to prevent hypokinesia when the therapy is applied early enough. By prevention of contractures and postural muscles mobilization it allows patients to restore lost function of the musculoskeletal system. It improves the well-being of young people. Due to the nature of the disease and its rare occurrence among children and young people, on the basis of clinical observation of patients’ motion system, in the article an attempt to describe the specific dysfunction abnormalities was made and ways of improvement were set forth.
