Rapid development of medical technologies during the last 30 years has enabled laparoscopic performance of practically all gyneacological surgeries carried out so far by means of laparotomy. Limitations of endoscopic technique are the type and extent of pathological change as well as the experience and operative skills of the surgeon. Laparoscopy has become the “gold standard” in some diseases (e.g. tubal pregnancy, benign adnexal changes). In others (e.g. female genital malignancies) it is still a controversial method.
