Pelvic inflammatory disease is an important medical and social issue. It is the commonest complication of sexually transmitted diseases in young women and the most frequent gynecological hospitalization cause in reproductive age. We present the topical information of the symptoms, signs, diagnosis and guidelines for the management of pelvic infection.
