This case report presents a 10-year-old
patient diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 1,
exhibiting
a plexiform neurofibroma in the neck region. The report
emphasizes the importance of an interdisciplinary therapeutic
approach, detailed imaging diagnostics, and cautious surgical
decision-making in paediatric cases. The hospital course, including
surgical intervention and further pharmacological qualification with
MEK inhibitors, is described. A conservative treatment and
observation strategy helped avoid complications and improve the
patient’s quality of life.
