Dear Colleagues!
We present to you the next issue of the quarterly Family Medicine and Primary Care Review, the only scientific journal in the field of family medicine in Poland, which for many years has enjoyed the consistant interest of authors and readers of the international scientific and clinical community. This time, we present 10 original articles and 3 review papers. Among the original papers, you will find e.g. articles on the importance of education for family and caregivers in providing proper care to patients after arterial bypass grafting (Ramini et al.), comparison of the effectiveness of various methods of treating fractures of the forearm bones in children (Sojka et al.), as well as eating habits in women on a vegan and non-vegan diet diagnosed with insulin resistance. Other articles deal with the extremely important problem of mental disorders in pregnant women under the care of a family doctor (Mansouri et al.), perception of the problem of pain control in neonatal intensive care unit patients among nursing staff (Neshat et al.) and the diagnosis of Lyme disease in children (Nykytuk et al.).
The current topic of job satisfaction among family doctors in European countries is raised in the article by Shpakou et al., including very interesting observations, especially within the context of the pandemic and postpandemic era.In turn, the review papers will allow readers to learn about the current views on the importance of telemedicine in the care of patients with type 2 diabetes, the impact of socioeconomic factors on prostate cancer screening, as well as the pathogenesis, clinical picture of diagnosis and treatment of Samter’s triad.
I wish you interesting and useful reading, which I hope will make your winter evenings more pleasant and diversified. Traditionally, December is a month of summaries and thanks. At this point, I would like to thank all our readers, authors, reviewers, editors and the publisher for their efforts and invaluable help in preparing subsequent editions of the Family Medicine and Primary Care Review. Without your effort, commitment, passion and dedication, the magazine would not exist.
I wish you all the best and happiness in the coming year!
