Share of ovarian cancer in gynecological cancers is high in terms of frequency of cancer cases and deaths. Majority of cases are recognized in an advanced stage of disease. Cytoreductive surgery and followed chemotherapy are associated with side effects. This emotionally aggravating disease and its treatment significantly affects deterioration in the quality of life. The paper illustrates the specificity of the quality of life for this group of patients and focuses on aspects of infertility, treatment-induced menopause, body image and femininity, sexual functioning, distress, fatigue, and also on side effects of chemotherapy.
