Allergen immunotherapy is an aetiological method of treatment of pollen allergy. Proper evaluation of patients is a base for efficacy and safety of this method. The case presented herein is a 21-year-old female who was prescribed subcutaneous SIT due to pollen allergy with Allergovit injections (grass 50%, mugwort 20%, rye 15%, plantain 15%) during two consecutive years (2000-2001), and in the second year of ITA vitiligo intensified. Vitiligo could be observed on the skin of her eyelids as small depigmented patches from the age of 8. Vitiligo was observed in two generations of patient family. During ITA treatment new depigmented places occurred (elbows, dorsum hands, right hip). Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis were diagnosed. This case shows that more attention should be paid to a careful check for any contraindications for the ITA treatment.
