Silver sulfathiazole (Argosulfan cream) is one of the most commonly used topical drugs for skin burn treatment. The dual mechanism of action of Argosulfan, based on antibacterial activity caused by silver and sulfonamide chemotherapeutic, provides efficacy in the treatment of wounds at risk of infection and ones that are already infected. This case report shows the efficacy of Argosulfan combined with absorbent dressings in the treatment of IIa and IIb skin burns. The healing was achieved in 16 days, and no adverse events were observed.
