During the last 3 decades of obstetric the rate of forceps assisted delivery increased dramatically. In some departments this procedure is completly abandoned. Therefore we can draw the conclusion that forceps procedure currently has only historical importance. However the advantages of forceps used properly are so significant, that it should be still loked upon as a very useful and helpful procedure of obstetrical problems solving.
