Pregnancy complicated by intrauterine growth restriction is pregnancy of high risk. Backward intrauterine fetus growth leads to the risk of numerous complications in perinatal period and is
also connected with unfavourable implications for further baby\'s psychophysical development. In Europe the frequency of intrauterine growth restriction is about 6% of all pregnancies. Perinatal deathrate is 6 to 8 times higher for newborns affected with intrauterine growth restriction. Fetus hypoxia applies to 50% of pregnancies complicated by intrauterine growth restriction. The evaluation of appropriate fetus growth and its disorders diagnosis are very essential elements in taking care of pregnant women. Recently fast development of fetus intensive supervision methods during pregnancy and childbirth could be observed. Nowadays, biophysical methods have more essential role in fetus evaluation than biochemical ones. Some of authors emphasize a need of linking all of methods during the valuation of fetus.

We can mention some methods used in fetus supervision, such as:

• the evaluation of fetus activity by a pregnant woman,

• biometric studies with ultrasonography usage,

• the evaluation of amiotic fluid amount in ultrasonography,

• biophysical profile - the whole evaluation of fetus condition in cardiotocography and ultrasonography,

• the Doppler effect evaluation of vessel flow,

• the evaluation of acid alkaline balance.
