title="Effect of radiotherapy in a patient with Wegener\’s granulomatosis \– case report",
abstract="Wegener\’s granulomatosis is a systemic necrotizing vasculitis affecting small and medium sized vessels with associated granuloma formation. The onset of the disease is usually between 25 and 50 years of age, but it is becoming increasingly apparent that it can and does occur in childhood. Typically, the upper and lower respiratory tract and often the kidneys are involved. However, other organs including the skin, joints, heart, central nervous system, and eyes can also be affected. The clinical manifestations and symptoms are non-specific and include systemic findings such as fever, weight loss, arthralgia, and myalgia. Combined treatment with cytotoxic and corticosteroid agents has improved prognosis and long-term survival in patients with Wegener\’s granulomatosis. The aim of this article is to present  a patient with Wegener\’s granuloma-tosis and discuss treatment methods, with special consideration of the role of radiotherapy.",
