abstract="A family doctor plays a crucial role in prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases, in children as well as in adults. In the population of patients under control of a family doctor are many people suffering from allergic diseases and the doctor has an influence on diagnosis, treatment and control of the progress of a disease. In the case of symptoms appearing or worsening, a patient goes to his family doctor to seek advice and release from suffering. It is essential to set plain algorithms of proceedings in individual allergic diseases, which are addressed especially at family doctors, because not all of them are familiar with some wide reports such as GINA or ARIA, as well as running courses and training prepared especially for primary care doctors increasing the level of their knowledge in allergology, therapeutic rules and rules of cooperation with an allergologist. The earliest recognition and prevention are the most important aims in allergology and achieving them is not possible without family doctors\’ participation. The constantly growing frequency of allergic diseases, especially in the youngest, forces family doctors to be more alert during regular check-ups of patients, who do not always connect their symptoms with the allergic basis. What is important, early recognition can stop the so-called allergic march and decrease the risk of complications.",
