title="Cachexia in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease",
abstract="In part of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients it is confirmed nutritional status disorders, that can be characterised by decrease of fat free mass, manifested mainly as muscle mass. Specific loss of body mass is characteristic feature of chronic inflammatory diseases and is assessed as cachexia.  The frequency of cachexia has increased with the stage of the disease. The pathogenesis of cachexia is unknown, it seems that different factors in the development of the disease: inflammatory process, oxidative stress, hypoksia can causes compound disorders of metabolism of protein, fat and muscles, that are manifested by specific nutritional status disorders. Farmacological treatment and suplementation is not effective.",
