abstract="Corticosteroids (CS) have been used over 50 years to treat patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Fraction of patients do not respond to CS, and others responding to treatment come to dependence on this drug. In this paper the mechanisms of CS action were briefly discussed and possible molecular causes of CS-resistance and CS-dependence proposed.",
