title="Proximal tibial stress fracture associated with degenerative changes of the knee in a rheumatoid patient",
abstract="Fatigue fracture of the tibia secondary to osteoarthritis of the knee is relatively rare. Such fractures usually involve the proximal tibia. The authors present a case of fatigue fracture of the tibia with concurrent degenerative changes of the knee in a 57-year-old woman suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. The patient was treated surgically with a posterior stabilized prosthesis with a long uncemented tibial stem. The procedure yielded pain relief and correction of the axis of the lower limb with progressive bone union.",
