abstract="Rheumatic diseases, being incurable and progressing to disability, limit the lives of patients and their relatives. In treatment, when the main goals are inhibition of disease and limitation of pain, sexual life, which is an integral part of everybody’s life, draws little attention. In 2009 the Department of Health Promotion and Epidemiology of Rheumatic Diseases of the Institute of Rheumatology in Warsaw prepared and carried out a survey among patients of general practitioners throughout Poland. In this survey 131 couples, in which a partner lived with a diagnosed rheumatic disease patient, were included. For 86.3% of rheumatic people and for 63.4% of their partners rheumatic disease creates a problem in sexual life. This survey was preceded by a survey carried out among 54 health professionals. The aim of this survey was to describe the place of patients’ sexuality during medical consultation.",
