abstract="The elderly population has become an increasingly large part of the total population, and this group has shown higher rates of comorbid diseases. A review of the literature supports the belief that advanced age does not seem to be a contraindication for conventional or laparoscopic surgery. However, considering the high comorbidity of elderly patients, conducting an overall risk assessment and an adequate hemodynamic monitoring is highly recommended.",
