title="New staging system for cancer. Review of changes published in the sixth edition of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual",
abstract="The sixth edition of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual was published in 2002. The aim of this review is to present the major changes as compared to the previous edition, except cutaneous melanoma which has been reviewed recently by A. Mackiewicz [2]. Staging systems for thyroid cancer, primary liver cancers, as well as pleural mesothelioma have been revised and redefined. These changes were reviewed in this paper. The new version of the staging system for breast cancer was also presented in detail. The review of staging for other cancers include: (1) head and neck cancer, (2) tumors of the digestive system, (3) bone and soft tissue sarcomas, (4) renal cancer, and (5) prostate cancer.",
