title="Neonatal lupus: fighting an unknown enemy?",
abstract="Neonatal lupus (NL) affects 2% of children of mothers with detectable levels of anti-SSA/Ro and/or anti-SSB/La. Atrio-ventricular heart block, which constitutes the earliest symptom of the disease, is diagnosed between 18 and 24 weeks of gestation and, together with the developing generalized heart disease, is largely responsible for the prognosis. Recent research studies as well as results of randomized clinical trials significantly increased our knowledge about pathogenesis and clinical course of NL as well as possible therapeutic options.",
