title="Itopride in the treatment of kinetic disorders of gastrointestinal tract",
abstract="Itopride hydrochloride is a novel prokinetic which improves gastrointestinal motility by a dual mechanism of action. Firstly, it enhances the release of acetylcholine in the myenteric plexus by antagonizing the action of dopamine on the D2 receptors on the post-synaptic cholinergic nerves. Secondly, it prevents hydrolysisof the acetylcholine by acetylcholinesterase in the smooth mussels of the gastrointestinal tract. The results of many studies show that itopride, by virtue of its efficacy and tolerability may be considered us a drug of choice for the theatment of GERD, functional dyspepsia, gastroparesis and another functional disorders of gastrointestinal tract.",
