title="Does libido decrease during menopause have hormonal background?",
abstract="Hormonal transformations that occur during the menopause may alter female sexual functions. About 40% of menopausal women declare some sort of sexual issues. Estrogens, progestagens and testosterone decrease plays significant role in sexual activity alteration. It is characterized by reduction of sex drive, aversion to sex, lack of arousal and pain during intercourse These conditions are often difficult to diagnose and treat. There are many possible solutions improving quality of life. Various studies confirm effectiveness of estrogen supplementation in menopausal symptoms treatment. Progestins are often added to estrogen regimens in order to prevent endometrial hyperplasia. Androgen supplementation is associated with sexual function and satisfaction improvement. Synthetic steroid, tibolon was proven to be effective in decrease of menopausal symptoms as well as in sexual satisfaction increase. Because of variety of possibilities, optimal therapeutic effect can be achieved only with individual approach towards patient treatment.",
