abstract="Tako-tsubo syndrome is a transient cardiomyopathy, which is also known as the apical ballooning syndrome. Tako-tsubo is characterised by transient systolic dysfunction involving left ventricular apex and ischemic ECG findings with the absence of significant obstructive coronary artery disease. The clinical manifestation of tako-tsubo is similar to acute coronary syndrome. The most frequent finding on admission is ST-segment elevation in precordial leads in ECG. Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy is also present in patients with diabetes. We present a case of a 66-year-old female patient with tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy, in whom apical ballooning syndrome was diagnosed despite of the absence of typical ECG findings.",
