title="Use of oxycodone in pain treatment in a metastatic prostate cancer patient: case study",
abstract="In this paper we report a 65-year-old man diagnosed with disseminated prostate cancer with numerous bone metastases and neuropathic pain component. In this patient controlled-release (CR) oxycodone provided effective analgesia without adverse effects. Former pain treatment was ineffective due to too low doses of transdermal buprenorphine and lack of the use of adjuvant analgesics. The treatment with CR oxycodone was effective and well tolerated for the period of one year and it is still continued.",
