abstract="Occlusion of the lumen of the small intestine caused by an unmasticated and undigested mushroom is an extremely rare cause of obturative gastrointestinal obstruction. Herein we report a case of a 60-year-old woman who was operated on due to symptoms of bowel obstruction caused by an unmasticated and undigested mushroom known as the chanterelle ( Cantharellus cibarius ) or golden chanterelle. The mushroom was impacted in a terminal part of the ileum, approximately 10 cm from the ileocecal valve.",
