title="Acute aortic dissection due to intoxication with mephedrone – a case report",
abstract="Acute aortic dissection (AAD) is mainly connected with the use of cocaine and amphetamines. We describe the AAD which can be related to the recreational use of mephedrone. Mephedrone was regarded as a relatively safe psychoactive substance; however, there were some medical papers recently about death caused by the use of this substance. We describe a 29-year-old man who was admitted to the toxicology center after overdose of mephedrone. He complained of scrotal and lower limb pain. Dissection of ascending arch, descending aorta and emboli of abdominal and lower limb arteries was found in imaging studies. Even though the surgical procedures were performed immediately the patient died in the course of multiorgan failure.",
