title="Biliary stent migration complicated by covered sigmoid perforation in a patient with diverticula – the use of endoscopic technique. Case report",
abstract="The aim of this work is to present a case report of covered sigmoid perforation caused by a distally migrated biliary stent 8 months after its insertion. The stent was removed endoscopically and the perforation site closed with endoclips. The patient was managed conservatively with a good result. Biliary stent migration occurs with up to 10% rate, but distal translocation rarely leads to clinically significant complications. Among them the most severe is digestive tract perforation, observed mainly in the duodenum. There have been described rare cases of colon wall injury caused by a migrated endostent, usually treated operatively, although under certain conditions application of endoscopic techniques provides a possibility to avoid surgery and administer effective conservative treatment.",
