title="Trauma of the larynx – the state of urgency in laryngology. Case report",
abstract=" Blunt traumas of the larynx and trachea are serious injuries, often life-threatening. It is important to recognize them early and implement appropriate treatment in order to maintain a patent airway and treatment of co-existing damage to adjacent anatomical structures. We report a case of extensive injury to the larynx and trachea, progressive dyspnoea and dysphagia associated with lower throat tearing, as well as massive mediastinal and subcutaneous pneumothorax. We describe a method of diagnosis and therapy of laryngeal trauma, and present a classification depending on the type of fault, as well as a practical scheme of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in cases of suspected laryngeal-tracheal injury.
