title="Effects of hormonal changes in the perimenopausal period on psoriasis and quality of life
of women",
abstract="The article presents the impact of hormonal changes that occur during perimenopause on the course of psoriasis and quality of life of women. Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease, a genetically determined condition characterized by benign proliferation of epidermal cells and the occurrence of immunological disturbances. Clinical signs of the disease are primarily the presence of symmetrical, well-demarcated plaques covered with scales. The severity of skin lesions is varied. Perimenopause modifies the natural aging process of the skin and has a negative effect on the course of psoriasis. Symptoms of perimenopause period and psoriasis can have a significant impact on the mental state of women, leading to lower self-esteem and quality of life. Measurement and assessment of quality of life in women with psoriasis in the perimenopausal period allows analysis of the psychosocial functioning of women and identification of goals, objectives and needs of patients at different stages of the disease. Additionally, one can identify the group of women which specifically should be included in psychotherapeutic care.",
