title="Influence of antibiotic treatment on bacterial and fungal flora of vagina",
abstract="Normal flora and topical immunological processes are the most important factors which influence the stabilization of genital tract flora. The lower part of the genital tract may be colonised by intestine flora but in the upper parts there is mostly normal flora observed. Some factors including hormones, therapy with antibiotics or disinfectants (in topical use) and surgery cause genital tract flora disorders. The aim of the study was to compare bacterial and fungal flora of the genital tract in patients with some symptoms of genital tract infection and treated with antibiotics and patients without antibiotic therapy. We noticed that the most often prescribed antibiotics were amoxicillin and amoxicillin with clavulanic acid. The most frequently observed disturbances in vaginal flora were caused by these antibiotics. In patients treated with amoxicillin and amoxicillin with clavulanic acid we noticed fungal and anaerobic infections of the genital tract.",
