abstract="This article reviews the role of immunoactive components of nutrition. The evidence for indications, limitations and possibilities of providing an immunonutritional regimen is supported by the latest guidelines of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N.). The article presents the role of immunonutrition in therapy of acute pancreatitis, in the perioperative period and in sepsis now and its possibilities in the future.",
