title="Problems of nursing care in the creation and postoperative supervision of arteriovenous fistulas for hemodialysis",
abstract="Vascular access enabling adequate dialysis is a key factor in providing optimal hemodialysis, which is the primary method of renal replacement therapy. Authors describe basic types of surgically created access for hemodialysis and their complications. In this context tasks of a surgical and an operating nurse are described. They play an important role in the therapeutic team. The paper also contains a discussion on the real extension of the operating nurse’s tasks to include functions of the first surgical assistant. The authors believe that the specific nature of nursing work argues for the maintenance of separate specializations of surgical and operating nursing.",
