title="Constipation in cancer patients – the management recommendations of the Expert Group of the Polish Association for Palliative Medicine",
abstract="In this article recommendations on the management of constipation in adult cancer patients were submitted based on the available literature review after search of PubMed and Medline databases with the following subheadings: “constipation”, “opioid-induced constipation”, “laxatives”, “opioid receptor antagonists”, “cancer” and “palliative care”. Authors’ own experience and drugs’ availability in Poland was taken into consideration in these recommendations. All authors expressed their own views on each recommendation using a 5-step scale: A – total approval, B – approval with any exception, C – approval with serious exception, D – disapproval with any exception, E – total disapproval. It should be emphasized that these recommendations are general and in each case they should be adjusted to a clinical condition and individual patients’ needs.",
