title="Extraoesophageal symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease",
abstract="Gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD) is a group of characteristic and non-characteristic symptoms associated with the reflux of acid stomach contents into the esophagus. There are many causes of this disease, all of which lead to relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter and its failure. Generally, esophageal symptoms of GERD do not pose diagnostic difficulties whereas extraesophageal symptoms, which are chronic and troublesome for patients, are not always easily attributable to GERD.",
