abstract="In 2011, the Minister of Health set up the Expert Task Force on Palliative and Hospice Care (PHC). The aim of the Task Force was to propose changes in PHC in Poland, especially solutions regarding the structure and organization of PHC, and solutions to improve its quality and resources. Important proposals presented by the Task Force are to include daily care centers as guaranteed palliative and hospice services financed from public sources and to add the following to the list of patients eligible to PHC: patients disqualified from dialysotherapy and patients with strong and very strong chronic pain accompanying chronic progressive diseases. What is innovative among the recommendations is to change the organization and financing method of palliative out-patient clinics and transform them into palliative and supportive care out-patient clinics. Documents that should be widespread are cards of qualification for palliative care for children and adults. The Task Force also called for increasing expenditure for palliative care.",
