title="Squamous cell carcinoma of the uvula – case report",
abstract=" Cancers of the uvula and soft palate are included in the group of oropharyngeal cancers, with incidence ranging from 5% to 12% of all oropharyngeal carcinomas. They are more commonly found in men in the sixth and seventh decade of life. There is a strong and synergistic association with tobacco smoking and alcohol abuse. Due to location of the uvula in the midline of the soft palate, there is a higher incidence of bilateral and contralateral lymph node metastasis. Surgical removal is the treatment of choice. ",
