title="Patient care with advanced tongue cancer – case report",
abstract=" Introduction:   Oral cancers are 30% of head and neck cancers. The aim of the study is to present the issue of palliative care and quality of life of the patient with tongue cancer.   Case study : Patient had been hospitalized in 2011 in Oncology Center in Opole. Afterwards was took into care in St. Pio’s Father hospice in Byczyna. The patient’s condition was estimated by questionnaire. It contained description of disease progression, estimation of intensity of pain in VAS, ESAS, Tursky, Memorial Pain Assessment Card scale and assessment of physical activity in Karnofsky scale. Patient died in 2015 due to complications associated with cancer.   Conclusions : Analyze of patient’s condition revealed that total pain, dryness of the mouth and oral lesions were the most important medical problem. Quality of life, estimated by patient, was good.",
