title="Procedure in case of complications following blood transfusion – the role of a nurse",
abstract="Transfusion complications constitute a heterogenous group of adverse reactions to the transfusion of blood and its components, which generally occur during transfusion or shortly after it has finished. The objective of this article is to discuss the role of a nurse in the early diagnosis of transfusion complications in patients and to suggest a procedure to be followed if transfusion complications occur after the transfusion of blood or its derivatives. The most common symptoms of post-transfusion reactions in therapy using blood and its derivatives are characterised, as the knowledge of these and the ability to identify them early in nursing work is the basis for taking fast and effective measures in such situations.",
