title="The medicalization of the death vs. the children’s rights and dignity at the end of the life",
abstract="Cancer of the child isn’t something natural, simple to accept. The acceptance with its incurability is difficult both for parents and medical staff. The medicalization of the death is an obstacle to giving the holistic care to the patient at the end of the life and a threat to the children’s rights and dignity at the end of the life. We must appereciate the special significance of communication with the dying person, which is a sign of the human concern and therapeutic action, too. The contact with the child constitutes the peculiar interpersonal relationship. From one side, its character is determined by illness and patient’s personal situation in life and from the other side by the nurse’s attitude. Not only communication, but also empathy, respect and approval are needed in relationship with dying child as much as resignation from the hurry to give completely professional nursing care.",
