title="Red eye syndrome in primary care settings",
abstract="Red eye is a commonly found syndrome of various diseases with different etiology. The most common amongst these are: subconjunctival hemorrhage, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, uveitis, acute glaucoma and chemical burns. Ophthalmologists are not the only doctors who may be dealing with red eye sufferers, doctors of other specializations may also come in contact with such patients. Therefore, it is very important for them to be able to recognize the most dangerous diseases, which may significantly damage organs of sight, as immediate care is required in such cases. Patients can also report other eye disorders such as burning or itchy sensations in the eyes, watery eyes, photophobia, eye aches and headaches or os. Again, doctors must be able to distinguish whether these symptoms are resulting from a dangerous disease or not. This is why an accurate anamnesis and tests can help diagnose patient’s diseases and ensure appropriate treatment is applied.",
