title="The prudent limitation of carbohydrates intake in obesity treatment",
abstract=" The condition of effective weight loss is the negative energetic balance in patients, what means the excess of energy expenditures over the energy intake. The crucial rule in reduction of weight is also to maintain lower weight during a longer period obtained by the slimming therapy, what is usually very difficult. Thus frequently methods that are opposite to research evidence are applied. It refers especially to low carbohydrate diets. These diets of drastic reduction in carbohydrates consumption without the reduction in fat and protein consumption, are in fact hypocaloric. It explains high weight loss, partially due to diuretic effect. But such diet cannot be continued forever (it is not possible to loose weight continuously) and the consumption of carbohydrates is step by step higher, but remains always lower than recommended in rational nutrition. In this situation patient is shifted from slimming diet towards irrational atherogenic nutrition with higher intake of animal fat. It is one of the main reasons not to use the ketogenic hypocarbohydrate diet. carbohydrates, obesity treatment, low carbohydrate diet. ",
