title="Diabetic foot syndrome – from epidemiology to diagnostic",
abstract="The diabetic foot syndrome is a vascular complication of diabetes. The development of diabetic foot syndrome in patients with untreated or poorly controlled diabetes is a frequent cause of hospitalization for these patients. The diabetic foot syndrome pathogenesis is multifactorial, but two dominant factors can be distinguished: metabolic and ischemic component. Vascular changes lead to reduced blood flow, resulting in lower limb ischemia, which increases the risk of developing ulcers in patients with diabetes.",
