title="The model of nursing care of heavily burned child – a case study according to the International Classification for Nursing Practice",
abstract=" Introduction : Severe burns of children are one of the most dangerous injuries directly threatening their lives. They require an implementation of highly specialized medical and nursing procedures and coordinated cooperation in an interdisciplinary team in centers specialized in it.    Aim of the study : Discussion of current and potential, nursing and interdisciplinary problems occurring during hospitalization of heavily burned boy and a try to solve them with the use of diagnoses and the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) interventions.    Materials and methods : The study analyzed the case of heavily burned 17-year-old boy. To extract nursing diagnoses the ICNP interview, measurement of vital signs, observation and analysis of medical records have been used. The components of the nursing process have been taken from the online material posted by the Center for Research and Development (ICNP®) at the Medical University of Lodz; electronic version from 2015.    Conclusions :   1. In life-threatening condition nursing activities based on the model of nursing care according to Henderson, in a holistic view – satisfied the problems of heavily burned patient.   2. The support and educational system by Orem have been very useful during interaction with the patient.   3. The plan of care using ICNP allowed to standardize the naming of individual diagnoses and interventions used in nursing, as well as in the future it will affect the arrangement of areas for documenting nurses’ work.",
