abstract="There are no particular regulations in polish legal system concerning the assisted reproductive technologies. Therefore the gynaecologist should observe the general medical and legal rules and first of all should obey The Ethical Code and The Medical Law. The doctor should comply with general rules concerning any medical procedure. The methods of medical assisted procreation can be applied only in the case of the sterility or infertility. The gynaecologist ought to check also some personal qualifications before the application of the methods. The gynaecologist is obligated to control the fact of marriage and majority of the couple. It is forbidden to apply the methods in the case of death of the applicants.  Major obligations of the gynaecologist concern the information and the necessity of the obtention of the agreement to the application of assisted reproductive technologies.
